A deeper infection of the tooth usually causes tooth pain. It can be sharp, throbbing and can even affect your sleep.
The common sources of tooth pain are tooth decay, cracked tooth, sensitivity, damage to pulp tissue, bruxism or teeth grinding habit and infection in surrounding tissue or bone.
Prevention of tooth pain:
- Visit dentist at the earliest even when you notice a small cavity or a black spot on the tooth.
- Follow good oral hygiene practices such as flossing and brushing twice daily.
- In case of night grinding consult your dentist who will fabricate night guards which will prevent further damage.
- Schedule regular dental visits so that cavities can be easily diagnosed and treated
